Rabbi Silver describes Temples
Beth David as a liberal congregation with a warm approach to Jewish
traditions.
It is a full-service congregation, providing a broad
range of activities including:
- worship
services on Shabbat and holidays
- a religious
school that goes from pre-kindergarten
to 12th grade
- a social
action mandate that brings Temple members into constructive
interaction with the broader community
- an
adult
education program that ranges from adult level Hebrew
to guest speakers to mini-course on various topics of interest
- a
book review club
- a social
and entertainment program that both stimulates
and amuses our Temple family.
If Rabbi Silver
had to put his finger on one thing that makes him most proud
of Temple Beth David, it would be to describe us
as a family oriented congregation, one in which family members
from small children to senior citizens have a sense of ownership
and involvement in Temple activities.
We view growth not in terms of absolute size, but rather in term
of how well we are able to respond to the religious needs of our
membership. Because we are numerically small, we understand that
every person is important. We hope that you will want to be part
of our Temple family, and grow Jewishly along with us.
